The idea was to show what would happen if the world of Stranger Things came to Australia, to launch season four.

We introduced Bondi Rescue to the world of Demogorgons and D&D, using the laidback personalities of the squad to land the cultural insight of how fun-loving, relaxed Aussie larrikins would react to their own invasion.

Very differently to Hawkins, as it turns out.

A man wearing sunglasses and a blue lifeguard shirt standing on a rocky beach with the ocean and buildings in the background.
A giant monster with tentacle-like limbs and a blood-red core is being examined by several people dressed in hazmat suits on a sandy beach. There are spectators behind a barrier and the ocean in the background.
A female news anchor with blonde hair, wearing a dark green top, sitting in front of a backdrop showing a cityscape with high-rise buildings and a bridge, during a news broadcast on Sky News.
Sunset over a beach with clouds, gentle waves, a rocky formation in the foreground, and a distant town skyline.
